There are hundreds of reasons that people make scrapbooks and each scrapbook made has its own theme. Some choose events like graduations or weddings, others make them as gifts designed to convey certain emotions such as happiness or sympathy while others choose to make books to celebrate occasions, such as birthdays or welcoming in a new family member.

Whatever the occasion is, you can always add in a quote on any of the pages. A quote, that has been carefully selected and placed in just the right spot can really add to the flavour of your scrapbook.

But how do you know where to find and when to use the right <a href="http://www.memorablescrapbooking.com/scrapbooking-quotes/how-to-add-scrapbooking-quotes-to-your-layout-pages"title="" >scrapbooking quotes?

In my many travels, I have come across some inspirational and thought provoking quotes that have been perfectly phrased and have really managed to capture the feeling of the speaker in a succicnt and meaningful way.

I have come across these in movies, while watching speeches, reading books and on the Internet. Whenever I come across a profound quote, I write it down and keep it for later, where I add it into my special scrapbooking quotes book for later.

This book comes out when I am making a scrapbook and want to use a quote to add to the feeling of my current scrapbook.

In my book, I have divided the sections up into happy, sad and general thoughts. I have then subdivided the sections into more specific emotions, such as happiness, success, achievement, sadness, loss and so on.

Whenever I need a quote for a particular occasion, I open my book, flip to the section which has the emotion I want to project. I then select the quote thats perfect for the page.

I hope you’ve decided to start your own scrapbooking quotes book, I know that mine has served me well over the years and its almost time to start a second one.

Good luck and happy scrapping!

Scrapbooking is largely a visual from of art, however sometimes with the addition of a few heart warming quotes and sayings you can make those special photos just a little bit more special. There are lots of ways to include <a href="http://www.memorablescrapbooking.com/scrapbooking-quotes/how-to-add-scrapbooking-quotes-to-your-layout-pages"title="" >scrapbooking quotes in your layouts and here are just a few suggestions to get you started.

Layout titles

Using quotes as layout titles is a great way to give your page a certain theme. Simple, short, sweet and to the point. They can be funny if you like too. You can also add layout titles to a variety of backgrounds, textures and materials to make your page really pop.

Captions

Even though this may seem very “same old, same old,” captions are a great way to identify pictures or to add large chunks of text-and still avoid crowding out everything else on the page. It’s true that captions may not always be the most creative method, but they can fit just about anywhere, and won’t stick out like a sore thumb.

Thought bubbles

Thought bubbles are a great way to add text and quotes to pictures, especially to remember the funny conversations had at the time of the photo. Thought bubbles also work well in situations where someone is not saying something, but rather thinking something instead. Thought bubbles can work well with pictures of funny facial expressions on both people and animals too.

Swing tags

Swing tags work best when you simply want to include brief, descriptive information somewhere. Swing tags are great for identifying locations or other “significant statistics.”

Conversational balloons

Remember the old comic strips in the newspaper? Conversational balloons are a great way to add dialog to your scrapbooking layout. If it looks like people truly are talking to each other in a particular picture, feel free to add a couple of conversational balloons-one for each person talking, or you could come up with funny quips that fit the picture in question.

These are just a few ways to add scrapbooking quotes and sayings to your pages, however there are also many others. My suggestions are just a few to help get you started, and remember there are ‘no’ rules.

Scrapbooking Ideas For Boys… by Cijaye DePradine One great thing about scrapbooking children is that you get to profile the kids you love and all that they love. The sky is the limit with themes, colors, photos, cropping, matting, embellishing and patterned papers. Kids scrapbooks are so vibrant and so fun. Boy scrapbooks are no different.

Boy scrapbooks don’t have to be limited to blues, greens, browns and / or dark colors like you might think.

Especially if you are doing <a href="http://www.memorablescrapbooking.com/baby-boy-scrapbook/5-tips-for-making-a-baby-boy-scrapbook"title="" >baby boy scrapbooking. Baby boys are still so soft and gentle. Their boyish scrapbook pages deserve a calm look and feel. Yes, you can use random splashes of dark trim, matting, borders, accents or embellishments to bring a little more dark into the layouts. But overall your color theme should include soft, or subtle washouts of traditional boy colors / backgrounds as well as a decent amount of white (representing purity) and the occasional soft yellows (representing friendship).

Baby boy scrapbook layouts deserve the same. You can – if you are a veteran scrapbooker get away with much more (such as creating mosaic or collage scrapbook pages – where the layouts are complex and cluttered) but if you are not at such a level…its a good idea to keep these baby boy scrapbook layouts as soft as the newborn gentlemen are themselves.

Sure, you can do single or multiple pictures on each page…but you still want to keep the alignment of your photo’s calm and subtle.

New born baby boys have not quite grown into the rough and tumble boys that you might scrapbook about with solid and structured color as well as crazy random layouts when they hit age 8 and up.

As for the 8 and up boys…no holds barred! That’s right – you have full reign and all of my express permission to go wild. You could go goth even if you wanted to! (If this young man’s personality demands such a bold message).

Your job will be to capture the essence of this young dude to ensure that your boy scrapbook pages are perfect. If for example your young boy is a truck and car kid…you can use anything from ashphalt grays, yellow and white (road marking colors) and stop sign reds – to muddy browns, grassy greens, tire blacks and a lot of dusty textures.

If he is a dinosaur fan…your scrapbook pages will be full of desert colors and earthy greens. As well as scaly textures and the like. If he is a fantasy fan – and favors movies and books like Harry Pottery and Eragon – your boys scrapbook layouts will be dark and mysterious as well as starlit and whimsical. (You may even wish to add a lot of unique compartments and envelopes to make this magical boy scrapbook a mystical story all in and of itself!

As for the all boy scrapbook layouts – this is where it gets really fun. Boys are by nature quite random and sporadic. They love to mix things up. They love to play. They love to get dirty. So be playful with your layouts. Defy convention. Crop your photo’s into monster truck or TRex shapes. Scatter tire marks over everything. Splatter mudd. Embellish with gum wrappers. Matt or fringe with torn and dirty denim. But most of all – lose your inhibitions.

Be creative! Be boyish! Be fun!

Happy Scrapping!
